The ThirdGen project held its second Advisory Board Meeting online on 4 September 2026, bringing together the research team and Advisory Board members to discuss the project’s progress, recent developments in data collection, and priorities for the next stages of the research.
The meeting was attended by members of the ThirdGen research team, including Professor Ayse Guveli, Dr Sait Bayrakdar, and Project Coordinator Haneen Jadallah. Advisory Board members in attendance included Professor Ulf Liebe, Dr Sebnem Eroglu-Hawksworth, Professor Harry Ganzeboom, Dr Joonghyun Kwak, Professor Niels Spierings, Professor Lucinda Platt, Professor Anika Liversage, Professor Patrick Simon, and Professor Claudia Diehl.
Professor Guveli opened the meeting with an overview of the project and shared updates on recent developments in data collection. Dr Bayrakdar then presented an in-depth update on the pilot stage of the qualitative interviews, highlighting insights and reflections emerging from the fieldwork.
The presentations were followed by a valuable discussion between the research team and Advisory Board members. Members shared their perspectives, feedback, and recommendations, contributing to discussions around the ongoing development of the project and its next stages.
The meeting provided an important opportunity to reflect on the progress made so far and to draw on the expertise and perspectives of the Advisory Board as the project moves forward.
